Medical Director

Third Street

Third Street Men's Shelter is looking for a Medical Director to work in the Medically Supervised Outpatient Withdrawl Service.  This position will work in collaboration with the Primary Care Medical Director and is responsible for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients within the scope of the unit. Other duties will include, but are not limited to: consulting with appropriate medical specialists, supervise clinical team leaders, direct preventative health programs, develop and participate in the implementation of quality assurance management and completes 30 annual Continuing Medical Education credits.  Candidates should be M.D. Board eligible, licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York, knowledge of managed care services and strong interpersonal skills.

 

Licensed Practical Nurse

Third Street

Our Third Street shelter is looking for a registered LPN with a current NYS license. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: completing medication sheets; dispensing medicine; triage patients within medical and psychiatric setting; work closely with doctors, shelter staff and other members of the medical team; use the computer system to enter nursing data; and maintaining Quality Assurance data and reporting. Candidate must be flexible to work varied hours, including evening hours for Nursing Coverage. This position reports to the Director of Psychiatry.

 

Nurse Practitioner

ScanVan

Project Renewal Health Services is looking for an individual to be an essential part of its new mobile radiology van.  The ScanVan will provide chest x-rays and mammographies to low-income and homeless men and women.  The Nurse Practitioner will be the primary care provider on our ScanVan and will be responsible for the assessment of the patients, PPD placement and readings, as well as performing the clinical breast examination and patient education.  Candidates should possess ambulatory experience and/or a public health background geared towards adults.  Must have the ability to work in a busy mobile setting with energy and enthusiasm. 

 

Senior Budget Analyst

Varick Street

Project Renewal's Finance Department is looking for an accountant to help manage and analyze government grants, prepare, modify and maintain budgets, communicate with applicable funding sources and provide projections for the fiscal year.  Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of experience in a non-profit environment.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and MIP accounting software is a plus.

 

Cook

Comfort Foods

Comfort Foods is looking for a cook to help prepare three meals daily for 350 residents. Responsibilities are: storing food and supplies; supervising the serving of meals; maintenance of the kitchen and storerooms; and be able to pay particular attention to the needs of the residents with dietary restrictions. Candidates must have formal culinary arts training and be able to work any shift available.

 

Counselor

Medically Supervised Withdrawal Service

Project Renewal is initiating a new program through our Third Street Men’s Shelter. We are looking for a counselor to be responsible for the following: carry a primary case load of ten clients; facilitate group and individual counseling sessions; obtain any psychosocial, mental status and abuse background; complete treatment plans and goals with clients and team members; and work with the medical staff. Candidates must have their NYS CASAC or be a CASAC trainee, be abstinence from all substances for at least three years, have the ability to work as a team member and complete all paperwork in a timely fashion. Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel is preferred.

 

Senior Case Manager

Fort Washington

Project Renewal’s Fort Washington On-Site Rehabilitation Enhancement (STEPS) serves chronically mentally ill and MICA men residing at Fort Washington Men’s Shelter and is looking for a senior case manager to join its team. Duties will include, but are not limited to: monitoring clinical service delivery; supervising program staff; maintaining quality assurance activities and monitoring clinical documents to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Candidates must have a Masters Degree in Social Work or a related field and one year of clinical supervisory experience. A minimum of two years experience working with homeless, mentally ill and MICA adults is preferred.

 

Senior Next Step Counselor

Next Step

The Senior Next Step Counselor will be responsible for developing individualized, customized service plans for clients who enroll in Next Step and managing/facilitating the delivery of these services in an integrated and seamless manner. The Counselor’s duties include but are not limited to the following for each client on his/her caseload: meeting the client individually; developing an individualized, customized service plan for the client; maintaining regular contact with the client to ensure his/her program participation and attendance; maintaining regular contact with the client’s case manager; facilitating the client’s progression/transition from one Next Step program to another; attending shelter/residential case manager meetings; and preparing and maintaining reports. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree, CRC or CASAC, as well as one or more years of direct-service experience in a social setting working with substance abusers, the mentally ill or homeless populations. Very strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills are required. Experience in vocational assessment and counseling a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential. Bi-lingual preferred.

 

Housing Coordinator

Project Renewal's Third Street Men's Shelter is looking for a second housing coordinator to help place homeless men suffering from substance abuse.  The Housing Coordinators work within DHS regulations and goals, work with case managers to ensure documents are clinically appropriate and updated and set up housing appointments and interviews for clients.  Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, the ability to work independently and the desire to work with the homeless.

 

Housing Coordinator

Kenton Hall

Kenton Hall is a 24 hour facility working with homeless men who have chemical dependencies.  Responsibilities for this position are: assisting clients obtain permanent housing, facilitating weekly housing workshops, working with case managers, maintaining and updating client forms and reports, communicating with city housing officials and interacting with clients to prepare them for applications and interviews.  Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field of study. Bi-lingual is a plus.

 

Case Manager

Holland House

The case manager is a key member of the facility’s multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate must be able to work with all levels of staff, as well as with clients who have multiple problems. Duties are as follows: intake, psychosocial and substance abuse assessments; treatment, planning, money management, advocacy, information and referral, medication compliance, monitoring and outreach; individual and group supportive counseling; organization and education of tenants through groups and other activities; written documentation. Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or in a related human services field, plus experience working with special-needs populations. Extensive experience with the population my be considered in lieu of degree.

 

Case Manager

Third Street

The Case Manager is a hands-on position working directly with chemically dependent, homeless men in a 24-hour facility. Reporting to the department Supervisor, duties include but are not limited to: case management for a caseload of approximately 25-30 men; 2-4 Therapy/Caseload groups per week; preparation of psycho-socials and the development of service plans as well as individual counseling sessions; maintaining and updating client charts on a bi-weekly basis; attending weekly case conferences. Requirements include a BA in a related field of study with a minimum of one year prior experience. Bi-lingual a plus.

 

Case Manager

Fort Washington

The case manager provides weekly, long-term supportive therapy for clients diagnosed with schizophrenia, mood, personality and substance-related disorders. The case manager is also responsible for primary treatment including: developing therapeutic alliances, monitoring client stability, assisting with crisis intervention/hospitalizations; and, enhancing rehabilitation and socialization skills. Other duties include: developing individual treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team; providing ongoing clinical documentation; leading weekly counseling and rehabilitation groups focusing on relapse prevention, sobriety support, goal setting, managing strong emotions, symptom identification and management, problem solving, family issues, and coping with painful feelings. Masters in Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling or Social Work preferred. Experience working with clients who have a serious and persistent mental illness and a substance abuse history.

 

Junior Case Manager

The Clinton Residence is a 24-hour supportive housing and treatment program for formerly homeless mentally ill adults. It is looking for someone who can work with its multi-disciplinary team, Tuesday through Saturday, during the day, promoting the art of successful community reintegration.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assessment, treatment, advocacy and case management; and housing placement and transition work utilizing evidence-based practices.  Experience working with individual and group formats is preferred.  Bachelor of Arts is preferred, in addition to 5 years of experience in a residential setting.

 

Entitlements Specialist

New Providence

Project Renewal's New Providence Women's shelter is looking for an Entitlements Specialist to meet and assess clients for any financial problems that may provide coverage for their healthcare needs.  The specialist will work directly with the case workers and report to the Facilities Director.  Responsibilities will include: assessing clients to determine their Medicaid eligibility; attending Case Conferences; monitoring cases and providing support to case workers; and assisting clients throughout the Medicaid application process.  Candidates should have a GED or High School diploma, experience in Medicaid protocols and good oral and written skills. 

 

Recreation Counselor

St. Nicholas

Project Renewal’s St. Nicholas House provides affordable, permanent, supportive housing to single adults.  The Recreation Coordinator will provide tenants information and assistance to access local community events; facilitate on-site recreation activities; organize off-site trips; and provide direct service to tenants including assessment, counseling and referrals.  Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and related experience in a residential setting. 

 

Mobile Medical Services Driver

Mobile Medical Vans

Project Renewal Health Services is currently looking for a new medical van driver to join its outreach team. The driver will work closely with the provider staff, drive to establish sites to render medical care to clients and perform registration utilizing our computer system. Candidates must be flexible and have a range of availability because the schedule is always subject to change. Drivers should have a commercial license, with endorsements for passengers and air brakes. Good communication and organizational skills are needed to provide effective medical administrative support. Inquiries regarding candidates’ driving record will be made.

 

Case Aide

The Clinton Residence is a state-of-the-art residential treatment program dedicated to promoting effective community reintegration for individuals who have traditionally been unable to manage in less supervised settings. As part of our large multi-disciplinary team, the case aide will work closely with clinical staff to assist individuals with on-site rehabilitation and reconnection to community supports. Responsibilities include: direct care; assessment; escorting to appointments; co-leadership of skill development and socialization groups; medication supervision; and, participation in clinical team meetings. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience with the formerly homeless, mentally-ill population preferred.

The Safe Haven is a nontraditional program offering a low demand approach to individuals who normally avoid larger shelter-based programs. As a part of our multi-disciplinary team, the case aide will work closely with clinical staff to assist individuals in their rehabilitation and reconnection to supportive housing and other community supports. Responsibilities include direct care, assessment, escorting to appointments and other advocacy work, along with participation in team meetings and case planning. High School Diploma or GED required and experience with the homeless, mentally-ill population preferred.

As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with clincial staff to assist individuals in their rehabilitation and reconnection to supportive housing and other community supports. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: direct care; medication supervision as needed; escorting residents to community appointments; participation in clinical team meetings; engaging in socialization and recreational activities with residents; monitoring resident activities in the building; along with participation in team meetings and case planning. High school diploma or GED. Experience with mentally-ill population preferred.

 

Fiscal Assistant

Project Renewal is seeking a full-time assistant reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.  Responsibilities will include: clerical duties; communications with the Board of Trustees; maintaining the fiscal department's correspondances, files and claims; and interfacing with Program Directors, outside vendors, staff, governmental agencies and private funders.  Candidates should have previous administrative support experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office and have the ability to multi-task and work independently.  College degree and previous non-profit experience preferred.

 

Assistant Facilities Director

Facilities Department

We are seeking a take-charge professional to join our management team. Reporting directly to the Facilities Director, you will be responsible for overseeing approx 12 sites. Duties include conducting daily visits to facilities to insure assigned tasks are completed, interfacing with Building Managers, preparing payroll/billing submission for the Fiscal Department and other supervisory related tasks. To qualify, you will need knowledge of the trades, 2 years related supervisory experience, an understanding of building systems, and the ability to read/interpret blueprints. In addition, candidates must be hard working and "hands-on''.
