  Shamrock Construction

Shamrock Construction was created in 1983 as an experimental program that would simultaneously give Project Renewal clients work experience and a paycheck, while generating income for the organization. Among Shamrock's earliest projects was the clean-up of the Brooklyn Army Terminal for the city. Since the success of that collaboration, Shamrock's relationship with the city's Economic Development Corporation has grown exponentially. Currently, Shamrock does area maintenance at locations throughout the city, graffiti removal in all five boroughs, and maintains the piers at South Street Seaport, among other assignments. In addition, Shamrock does all the maintenance and construction work for Project Renewal, including building three medical clinics, a bakery, a darkroom, and office space, as well as maintaining all Project Renewal's buildings. Shamrock also contracts with New York University, Cooper Union and Lenox Hill Shelter.
