Dr. Helen Adesuwa Uzamere, DPS, PMP, PMI-ACP, MSCE, ITIL, is a technology leader, certified project manager, author, and educator with over 35 years of experience on three continents (Africa, Europe, and North America). Born in London, England, and raised in Nigeria, her work spans government, non-profit, academia, and corporate sectors, where she worked for companies such as Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
She has led various technology departments, and her previous roles include Commissioner and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of Mount Vernon, Vice President of Project Management at Myriad 360, New York, and CIO roles at the New York City Criminal Justice Agency and London East Connexions Partnership in London, UK.
Her career in technology began in the early ’90s as a technical instructor with IBM, helping network engineers attain technical certifications in server and network operating systems. Dr. Helen is also a Pace University professor, teaching various technology and project management courses. She is a content contributor with the Project Management Institute and an Agilist with expertise in using agile techniques to solve problems and increase customer satisfaction.
Dr. Helen obtained her Doctorate in Computing and a Master’s in Information Systems from Pace University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Computing and Artificial Intelligence from London South Bank University, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics from the University of Benin, Nigeria. She holds numerous industry certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, IBM, and PMI.
