Healthcare For All Who Need It
New Yorkers experiencing homelessness are up to six times more likely to get sick than the general population. Compounded by the lack of access to quality healthcare, chronic illness creates instability that makes it difficult to secure housing and keep a job.
Project Renewal’s shelter-based clinics are NYS Article 28, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC)* and serve not only clients and residents, but are open to the public and local community. Our physicians provide patient-centered compassionate care, and no one is ever turned away.
Our clinics offer acute and chronic care management, including screening and treatment for: diabetes, hepatitis, HIV, hypertension, tuberculosis, and other conditions. We also provide mental health evaluation and treatment, gender affirming care, substance use screening, office based treatment, and routine vaccinations and assistance for those who cannot afford their medications.
