Vice President of Occupational Therapy
"Project Renewal's mission of helping people to reclaim their lives resonates deeply within me. Staff across every level of the agency demonstrate tremendous skill, passion, and dedication to this work, and I am incredibly grateful to be a part of this amazing team."

Robin Kahan-Berman is an Occupational Therapist with more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field and is highly skilled in program development, evaluation, treatment planning, direct service provision, staff development, supervision, and classroom and fieldwork education.

Robin began her tenure at Project Renewal in 2009, where she has since spearheaded its first-of-its kind Occupational Therapy Department within the homeless services/supportive housing sector. She designed the award-winning OT-driven HOPE (Helping Older People Engage) program for seniors in supportive housing, which is a cornerstone of PRI’s OT initiatives. She has worked hard to ensure that all staff have the clinical knowledge and training required to effectively address clients’ behavioral health needs, which helps facilitate each client’s ability to seamlessly access all relevant PRI services.

Prior to Project Renewal, Robin worked at Brookdale Hospital and New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. She has been widely recognized as a leader in her field, and is an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University in their occupational therapy program. Robin earned her EdM at Harvard University and her BS in occupational therapy at Tufts University.
