Laura Michener joined Project Renewal in 2023 and has worked in affordable housing development and homelessness services for over 15 years. At Project Renewal, she manages all aspects of new construction development and rehab with respect to affordable and supportive housing projects – from project inception through design, finance, construction, lease-up and conversion through 8609.
Laura’s core work at Project Renewal is bringing forward projects for households experiencing chronic homelessness and SUD/SMI populations in New York City. Across her career, she has also developed housing developments focused on families with low income, veterans, and older adults and has led the development of projects in various states, including New York, Connecticut, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Prior to working in affordable housing development, Laura ran a community-based homelessness services non-profit in London. Laura holds a Master’s of Science in Building and Urban Design from University College London and Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University.
