Vice President of Programs
"At Project Renewal I am able to be innovative, have my voice heard, and can now open doors for those following in my footsteps as I continue to break the mold. Being able to come to a work environment that celebrates my true, authentic self is priceless. "

Sara Negron is Project Renewal’s Vice President of Programs, overseeing a combination of shelter and housing programs that support those living with mental health and substance use disorders. Sara provides guidance, support, and leadership to ensure that day-to-day program services align with Project Renewal’s mission, vision, and values. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she was the Director of New Providence Women’s Shelter, and successfully led the first shelter de-densification effort in New York City. Sara knows that supporting employees to succeed in their roles ultimately improves the quality of care and services offered to clients, and she is proud to serve as a mentor to new and recently promoted staff.

Prior to Project Renewal, Sara held a leadership role at Samaritan DayTop Village (previously Samaritan Village), and a MICA Specialist position at the start of her tenure at CAMBA. She holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University, and Bachelor’s and Associate’s Degrees in Forensic Psychology & Criminal Justice, with a focus on Addiction Studies, from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
